Wow, do I love The Icehouse. Sarah and Isaiah had the perfect modern fall wedding at The Icehouse located in Downtown Phoenix. It has a little bit of something for every couple. It’s a industrial-chic, blank canvas. The Icehouse used to be Constable Ice and Fuel Co. warehouse, built in the early 1920s. It served as a storage facility for massive 300 pound blocks of ice before modern refrigeration existed, primarily to keep produce cold for transport by trains.
Something I absolutely love about the Icehouse is that it has kept it’s old bones. It’s truly a raw, blank canvas. It has a beautiful courthouse, gallery, warehouse, and gorgeous outdoor areas. The getting ready area’s allow in the perfect amount of moody light that just leaves you… well speechless.
Sarah and Isaiah had a truly beautiful day. It was simple, modern, and chic. The day started with Sarah and Isaiah getting ready with the people closest to them. After that we immediately went into first looks. I cried. There vows to each other were so heartfelt and you really could tell how much these two just adored one another.
They opted to have all their formal photos prior to the ceremony. Couples that do decide to do this is mainly because they want as much time after the ceremony to spend with everyone. I always make sure to sneak couples away for about 20 minutes during golden hour if they want for a few more portraits during that optimum light we all love. Ending my night there I captured reception details, first dances and speeches.
Finally, I want to take you through Sarah and Isaiah’s day. As always, shot on both digital and film.
